Dubai Living, malls
The 25 most useful shopping malls in Dubai, by tenant mix, parking, opening hours, and metro access. Total parking capacity across the table below: 105,000 spaces. Updated 2026-05-09.
Dubai is the most mall-dense city in the world per capita. The reason is climate: with summer temperatures over 45 degrees Celsius and 90 percent humidity, the air-conditioned shopping mall replaces the open-air high street as the city's social hub. A weekend in Dubai is built around the mall the way a weekend in London is built around a park or a high street. Every major mall packs cinemas, food halls, supermarkets, dental clinics, and fitness studios into one footprint. The point of this page is to help you pick the right one for your purpose, not to list every retail destination in the emirate.
The standard Dubai retail day is 10:00 to 22:00 Sunday to Wednesday, extending to midnight on Thursday and Friday for malls that draw weekend traffic. During Ramadan, retail floors stay open all day but most food and beverage concessions only open at iftar. Cinemas, supermarkets, and pharmacies maintain normal hours regardless. Public holidays other than UAE National Day (December 2) generally see the same Thursday-night extended hours.
Every mall on this page offers free parking for at least three hours; most extend to four. The two exceptions during peak weekends are Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates, where additional hours after the free window cost 20 to 40 AED. Valet parking is universally available at premium malls, priced 30 to 60 AED. For metro access, Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, BurJuman, Deira City Centre, Ibn Battuta, and Marina Mall have direct turnstile-to-mall passage. The rest run feeder buses on 10 to 15-minute frequencies during opening hours.
For property buyers, mall proximity is a top-five rental determinant in Dubai. Tenants pay a measurable premium to walk to a mall over a five-minute drive. The clearest examples are Downtown Dubai (Dubai Mall), Dubai Hills Estate (Dubai Hills Mall), Palm Jumeirah (Nakheel Mall, The Pointe), and Dubai Marina (Marina Mall).
